trip

Fun and joy at the top. On 28th March 2008, the Earth Hour day, six KBU stooges went on a trip to Genting Highlands. This is the list of the stooges; Aqil, Izzat, Pidah, Rahimi, Fadli (me), and Mahmoud. The journey was an idea by one of the stooges who came from Syria, Mahmoud, because he has never been to Genting before. Yet, he doesn’t know that the other local stooges also never went there too, except for Aqil who went there once before.

Aqil was elected as the trip leader as he is the only one who has been there before. As a leader, Aqil was named Papa by the other five of us. Haha. Papa Aqil. Okay, back to the trip. We bought the trip package early in the morning, at around 8.30. The package includes return bus transfer, return Skyway transfer (cable car), and All Park access with a price of only RM42. That’s the price of our enjoyable day. Quite cheap, right?

After a one and half our journey, we arrived at Genting Skyway Station. Trying to reach the cable car faster, we somehow got lost as we went up and down the stairways. Sorry, Papa Aqil, because we don’t follow your suggestion of taking the lift. But, the experience of getting lost there is quite enjoyable, though. We began to feel our nerves as we stepped in the cable car. Wow, it is really high up there, and we were left hanging on the cable. It was very scary; luckily none of us have acrophobia. If not, there will be fainted stooges on the cable car.

At eleven in the morning, we reached the top. All the rides seem very enjoyable and we just can’t decide which one to be tried first. But, at last, we tried the least dangerous one first. Haha. As we have tried more than five rides, we began to gain more spirit. Up next, the Space Shot, which bring you up almost 50 feet in the sky, then release you down from that height. There is safety precaution, of course, seatbelts and etc. If not, I’m not going to tell you guys this story. Space Shot rated as five stars out of five by me. I suggest that all of you to try it. When we were going down, we experienced zero weight, and our bottoms don’t reach the seat. It was like committing suicide. Luckily we don’t faint or throw up. After that ride, we decided to rest first, and gather our braveness back. Haha.

After that, the clouds were turning black, and rain started to pour. So, we went to the Indoor Park. First, as we have planned since a day before, we played the Bumper Car. Poor Pidah, his car was always been a target for the other five of us. But, hitting his car was really fun and satisfying. The needle of the clock then pointed at two. So, we went for our lunch first before resuming our adventure. The prices of the foods were extraordinarily expensive. I don’t want to tell more about this, because it is not fun. Next, Mahmoud treated us for a wall climbing challenge. It was the first time for us, Aqil, Izzat, Pidah, and me as Mahmoud has tried it before in his country. Well, for me, I was the first one to climb, and guess what. I reached the top. I reached the top with my first attempt. Yeay! The best climber of the day was Aqil, because he stopped halfway. Haha. It’s all right Aqil, there will be next time. After that, we tried the rest of the ride in The Indoor Park.

After the rain stopped, we went back to the Outdoor Park, and tried all the rides that we missed before. At 7 p.m., Papa Aqil told us that we have to go back to the Skyway Station, or else we are going to miss the trip back to Bandar Utama. We reluctantly agreed because we wanted more fun. So, we called it a day after eleven hours of fun in Genting.

It was a very memorable event for us, for me especially. Thanks for the memories, Genting.

goal

Our goal is to be successful, and success is our dream.

We aim success, and we make an effort to achieve it. We will reach a point where we think a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, yet we don’t realize that we can achieve more if we take risks. In addition, taking risks can spice up our life, and let us out from a dull, plain, boring life. As we are stuck between two roads that diverged in a yellow wood, we find ourselves standing on a fence. We doubted which way are we going to take, and pondering how that decision will affect our life. Maybe we are afraid that we will get off on the wrong foot. Don’t worry; we have time to fix it up later. Just take the chances and don’t ever pull the plug.

As we go on with life, we regretted the past, and we were slowly killed by it. Keep your chin up, guys. Let the bygones be bygones, and start a new life. Life is an ongoing story, and every story has different chapters. So, flip on to the next page and keep writing until the final drop of ink. Do remember, every cloud has a silver lining.

Patience is virtue. We will encounter many obstacles when going through life. Don’t give up so easily, and control your temper. Hold your horses. Take a deep breath, refresh your mind. Find ways of relaxing the soul. Find a peaceful place, with fresh air surrounding it. As we were putting too much effort to achieve success, we will become exhausted. Take some time to hit the hay. We are no robot, we need rest too.

If we are working in group, be united. A house divided against itself cannot stand. If we are united, we can achieve almost everything. That is what TEAM means, Together Everyone Achieve More. United we stand, divided we fall.

Aiming success is a dream. Making effort to achieve it is an adventure. So, pack your things, prepare to struggle. Life is more enjoyable when we add more colours to it. Have a good life, my friends, and good luck in everything you do. Adios.

next

To be an engineer, to be an architect
We always wonder what will come next

We aim success, we aim the best
We make our effort and forget the rest

Sometimes we stuck, or even failed
We return to the path where the truth prevailed

We want to live a successful story
And let the past be our history

Living life as sweet as cream
And let the future to be our dream

first

What is it like to be the first? Do you feel superior? Or feeling you are the best among the rest? When you are the first one to reach the finish line during a marathon race, you feel great. When you are the first one to be called for an impromptu speech, you feel nervous. When you are the first one to be a failure among your friends, you feel disappointed.

First is derived as the number one. Numero uno. First is the best. But is it really the best?

Being the first doesn’t necessarily mean the best. As a first child, doesn’t mean that you are better than your younger siblings. First child means responsibility. Responsibility towards your younger siblings and you doesn’t have to be better than them to be responsible for them. What you need is care and love towards them, and most importantly, keeps them away from any harm. Being the first child also mean that you must be a good example towards the other siblings.

To be positively first is great. But, what if you are the first negatively? You are the first one to be kicked out from school or the first one to be expelled from your workplace. Are these making you feel great? Yes, to some extent, but usually no, right? So, why don’t you be the first one to do great things? Be the best, guys, and beat the rest.

This is a very short essay. My brain is hardly to function right now. Chowz.

alter

28th February 1991, a historical date for Malaysia. At that moment, the Prime Minister of Malaysia was Dr. Mahathir (presently addressed as Tun Dr. Mahathir). He was giving a speech about his vision to modernize this country, to put Malaysia at par with other developed countries. It was that day, February 28th 1991; Dr. Mahathir presents out his idea of Vision 2020, and the day that my mother gave birth to me.

28th February 2009, I am eighteen. The age that most people certified as above age, eligible to buy cigarettes on my own, eligible to watch adult-rated movies in Malaysia, and most importantly, eligible to withdraw more than RM 200 daily from my CIMB Bank account. But, these are not the main purpose of my topic today. I am now eighteen years living in this world, and I have been through many events that somehow have changed me in many ways.

I was a shy boy back in my kindergarten days. Well, to be honest, I only went to the kindergarten for three days, because of an event that truly embarrassing to be remembered. It was really hard for me to socialise with other kids in my class, and as they stare at me, the quiet little boy who sat at the corner of the class, I became deeply terrified. I don’t know why but it was me back then, and after the third day, I called it off. No more going to the kindergarten. I stayed at home and hide under the table when my bus came to pick me up. Haha. But, as I grew older, I began to change myself. I tried to be more sociable, started to interact with people of different gender and races, participate in any kind of group works. I make friends with many people and started to gain reputation in school. I was elected as the President of School Cleanliness Board when I was in Form Five. Four years before, I was barely able to speak to any one of my peers, but four years after, I was able to manage one of the school organisations.

The way I studied was also altered from year to year. At school, study is simple. By doing the homework given by the teachers was considered as study. Another habit is what so-called last minute studying. I will only study if the upcoming test is approaching in less than 24 hours. I don’t have the tendency to study earlier than that. But, I change the way I study as I grew older. I knew that the studying was getting tougher and tougher. So, I decided to double my effort, and now, the way I study is different from when I was in school. Now, I am able to study everyday without any hesitation.

I have also changed the way I view things, change my style, and change towards the better me. I hope that I can change more. I change not only to satisfy myself, but for my family and friends, so that I will be able to be a good son, a good brother, a good friend , and a good citizen.
