Fun and joy at the top. On 28th March 2008, the Earth Hour day, six KBU stooges went on a trip to Genting Highlands. This is the list of the stooges; Aqil, Izzat, Pidah, Rahimi, Fadli (me), and Mahmoud. The journey was an idea by one of the stooges who came from Syria, Mahmoud, because he has never been to Genting before. Yet, he doesn’t know that the other local stooges also never went there too, except for Aqil who went there once before.

Aqil was elected as the trip leader as he is the only one who has been there before. As a leader, Aqil was named Papa by the other five of us. Haha. Papa Aqil. Okay, back to the trip. We bought the trip package early in the morning, at around 8.30. The package includes return bus transfer, return Skyway transfer (cable car), and All Park access with a price of only RM42. That’s the price of our enjoyable day. Quite cheap, right?

After a one and half our journey, we arrived at Genting Skyway Station. Trying to reach the cable car faster, we somehow got lost as we went up and down the stairways. Sorry, Papa Aqil, because we don’t follow your suggestion of taking the lift. But, the experience of getting lost there is quite enjoyable, though. We began to feel our nerves as we stepped in the cable car. Wow, it is really high up there, and we were left hanging on the cable. It was very scary; luckily none of us have acrophobia. If not, there will be fainted stooges on the cable car.

At eleven in the morning, we reached the top. All the rides seem very enjoyable and we just can’t decide which one to be tried first. But, at last, we tried the least dangerous one first. Haha. As we have tried more than five rides, we began to gain more spirit. Up next, the Space Shot, which bring you up almost 50 feet in the sky, then release you down from that height. There is safety precaution, of course, seatbelts and etc. If not, I’m not going to tell you guys this story. Space Shot rated as five stars out of five by me. I suggest that all of you to try it. When we were going down, we experienced zero weight, and our bottoms don’t reach the seat. It was like committing suicide. Luckily we don’t faint or throw up. After that ride, we decided to rest first, and gather our braveness back. Haha.

After that, the clouds were turning black, and rain started to pour. So, we went to the Indoor Park. First, as we have planned since a day before, we played the Bumper Car. Poor Pidah, his car was always been a target for the other five of us. But, hitting his car was really fun and satisfying. The needle of the clock then pointed at two. So, we went for our lunch first before resuming our adventure. The prices of the foods were extraordinarily expensive. I don’t want to tell more about this, because it is not fun. Next, Mahmoud treated us for a wall climbing challenge. It was the first time for us, Aqil, Izzat, Pidah, and me as Mahmoud has tried it before in his country. Well, for me, I was the first one to climb, and guess what. I reached the top. I reached the top with my first attempt. Yeay! The best climber of the day was Aqil, because he stopped halfway. Haha. It’s all right Aqil, there will be next time. After that, we tried the rest of the ride in The Indoor Park.

After the rain stopped, we went back to the Outdoor Park, and tried all the rides that we missed before. At 7 p.m., Papa Aqil told us that we have to go back to the Skyway Station, or else we are going to miss the trip back to Bandar Utama. We reluctantly agreed because we wanted more fun. So, we called it a day after eleven hours of fun in Genting.

It was a very memorable event for us, for me especially. Thanks for the memories, Genting.
